ScienceNearMe.org was created so people can easily find a wide variety of STEM experiences across citizen science projects, museum events, science festivals, out-of-school time programs, Maker Faires, public science policy forums, astronomy clubs, science cafes, and more. ScienceNearMe.org helps trusted organizations connect with people while supporting academic researchers who study how people learn. By better understanding the landscape of opportunities to engage, Science Near Me aims to surface and address gaps and barriers to participate in STEM. Their primary goal is to help anyone, anywhere in the U.S. participate in science that matters across recreational, research, leisure, hobbyist, educational, professional, or policy interests.

Science Near Me is being implemented and pilot tested by a national cohort of partner STEM organizations consisting of science centers and museums, science festivals, citizen science organizations, afterschool STEM databases, and national STEM networks. Make: Magazine, Maker Faire and Maker Camp are part of that cohort.

When you complete your Camp Information form, you will notice a section about Science Near Me. By filling out this section you will be added directly to the Science Near Me website, where your Maker Camp will be listed for anyone to discover.
