STEP 1

Mix the borax

In one of your plastic cups, add 1 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of borax. Stir them together until the borax is fully dissolved.  Borax is used in laundry detergent to help aid in cleaning.

STEP 2

The glue mixture

Add 1/2 cup water to your second cup and pour in 4 oz (1/2 cup) of glue. Stir them together. This is the perfect time to add a few drops of food coloring to make your slime any color you'd like.

STEP 3

Combine

Slowly pour the glue mixture into the borax mixture cup, stirring slowly as you go. The slime will start to form instantly. Once they are fully together, continue stirring to help combine them as much as possible.

STEP 4

Finishing

Reach into your slime and work it well with your hands. When it won't soak up any more of the water mixture, pour out the excess water. You now have your very own cup of slime to gross out and amuse your friends.

While this may be the classic slime recipe, there are plenty of others out there. Try adding equal parts water and cornstarch together to create a slime-like substance that reacts differently when you hit it or apply quick force to it than when it’s allowed to rest.
